Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) – Information
Vallée GmbH operates the online shop my-vallée.com . Below you will find some legal information regarding the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG).
What does the BFSG regulate?
The Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG) implements the European Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act) into German law. The aim of the law is to improve the accessibility of certain products and services, including websites and apps, in order to enable equal access for people with disabilities.
Who is affected by the BFSG?
The Federal Act on the Protection of Personal Data (BFSG) generally applies to companies that provide certain services or place products on the market. For online shops, it is particularly relevant whether the service is a so-called electronic communications service that falls under the regulations. Furthermore, larger companies in particular are required to make their digital offerings accessible.
According to the currently valid regulations (as of June 28, 2025), the BFSG affects companies that:
- have more than 10 employees and/or
- achieve an annual turnover of more than 2 million euros.
Does the BFSG apply to Vallée GmbH?
Vallée GmbH currently does not fall into the group of companies that are directly obliged to make their website accessible in accordance with the BFSG.
This assessment is based on internal information and the current legal situation. Changes may result in future changes to the obligations.
